Wow, it is safe to say 2020 has been quite the journey so far. The plans and resolutions you sought out at the beginning of the year may have either come to a screeching halt or have fought some resistance.
We are here to tell you that it is time to stop dwelling on the past and start looking towards the future!
Read further on how to come out of the 2020 rut and prepare for a successful and rewarding 2021.
Get a system in place
The way you operate your business model and your day-to-day routine is probably very modified due to our current state of living.
It is time to start thinking of how this system could change in the upcoming year, and what you should do differently.
The best way to go about this is to decide on a system A, B, and C.
How do you plan your daily tasks? How is business predicted to change going into 2021? Where is your current system failing?
By answering these questions, come up with potential scenarios on how you feel your daily operations may change and work your system around that.
It is better to be over-prepared than under.
Adjust your way of thinking
2020 has instilled a very negative mindset in many. With everything going on in our world, it may be hard to fake a positive attitude.
However, this is business baby. And with that comes having to put on a happy face.
Try to avoid workplace drama and gossip, and instead make an effort to focus on the good. If an uncomfortable or negative topic is brought up amongst colleagues, flip the switch, and mention something heartening you encountered that week.
At the dinner table with family, have everyone describe something good that happened to them that day.
Start goal setting
You may think it is too early to start thinking about goals, but we are not talking resolutions – just goals.
Make a list and write down your professional and personal goals. Compare the two and see where there may be some overlap. Sometimes, your professional goal to be more productive coincides with your personal goal to improve your planning.
After tweaking and condensing this list, find your top three goals, and display them in a way you can see them every day.
If time-management is one of them, always keep a planner with you. If your professional goal is income-driven, layout your 2021 budget and expenses in an excel sheet you can tweak and adjust. What are you saving for? Tape a picture of that to your fridge.
Getting ahead on the big 2-0-2-1 is the biggest piece of advice we can offer. It will be here before you know it! We can guarantee it will bring forth a lot of change in all sectors of your life. So, get to preparing and planning for your best year yet!
